It is noted that the word “glamping” was first used in the United Kingdom in 2005 and by 2016 it was officially added to the Oxford English Dictionary. It turns out that luxurious tent-living dates to the 16th century, including a diplomatic summit in 1520 between Henry VIII of England and Francis I of France.
